Peter started his career with Olivetti in 1971 and joined Honeywell Information Systems in 1974, becoming top new business salesman in 1975 & 1976 with multiple IBM mainframe replacement sales, and Residential Sales Manager in the City in 1977. After a brief spell with the Competitive KO Division of ICL, Peter rejoined Honeywell (now Groupe Bull) in 1979 as Area Manager in their General Systems Division until he left to start his own business, Microplan in 1982, becoming Information Systems Ltd, in 1984.

From 1982 to 1990 the company grew revenues to £16M+ pa and 125 staff, focusing on the integration of PCs and Novell networks to mainframe computers. A broadening relationship with Microsoft with their Lan Manager & NT product in the nineties precipitated the leveraged MBO of the hardware and maintenance divisions of the company in 1994, and the creation of Serverware Group plc specialising in the development of enterprise scale system management products for the emerging Windows NT environment.

This culminated in the sale of Serverware’s real time eventing product ‘Operations Manager’ to NetIQ in the US for the total consideration of $17M in 1997. The product was then acquired subsequently by Microsoft and is now known at Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM).  Serverware then developed Enterprise Configuration Manager (ECM) which was acquired by Fundamental Software, now Configuresoft, Inc in 2000. At that time Peter joined the Configuresoft Board of Directors, and Serverware continues to successfully market and support ECM in the UK from their London offices where Peter continues as CEO.
